What is Artsonia.com?
Dear Parents/ Guardians,
Lehman-Jackson Elementary School participates in an online art program through www.artsonia.com. This website allows art teachers to create online portfolios of your children’s artwork that can be viewable at home. The neat part about this program is that after the artwork is published online, the parents and family may purchase keepsakes (such as coffee mugs and tote bags) from the website with the child’s artwork imprinted on it and 20% of the revenue is commissioned back to the school art program. This is also a great way for parents and family members to take a much more active role in their child’s art class.
Questions/Answers:
How do you ensure privacy for young students? On the Artsonia website, each student is identified only by a “screenname” which is usually the student's first name and number (e.g., Sarah22). Last names are never publicly posted on the website. Teachers can either pre-register the parent directly if they have access and permission to use the parents’ contact information, or they can distribute “security keys” to the parents for use when they register online. (A security key is a special code that ensures only the parent or legal guardian can register online for their child.)
How do I log in to view my child’s artwork? Parents/ Guardians may view their child’s artwork by going to www.artsonia.com. From there, parents may either create an account and use the security key given to you to connect you with your child’s artwork or you could search Lehman-Jackson Elementary School and find your child’s artwork by grade level.
If you have any questions, please contact me at [email protected]. I will continue to add new artwork throughout the school year, so be sure to look or new updates! I hope this program is a huge success at our elementary school!
Thank you,
Mrs. Casale
